Baruch College Writing Center Logo

The Writing Center offers free, professional writing support to currently enrolled Baruch undergraduate and graduate students through our online platform.

This semester, you can get help in three ways:

  • 50-minute online sessions: Discuss and revise your writing in real time with a consultant through video, audio, or text-only chat
  • Written/video feedback: Get asynchronous comments on your draft by email
  • Online writing workshops: Browse and sign up for 75-minute skill-focused workshops on our Events page

To schedule a session, enter your Baruch username and password and click on any available appointment slot. For new students, the default Baruch username and password is:

  • firstinital.lastname
YYMmmDD + Last 4 of SSN (Ex. 90Jan011234)

Your login is controlled by BCTC (not the Writing Center), so if you're having trouble logging in, visit Baruch's MyPassword portal for instructions on how to reset your account. We also discuss a few common login errors on our troubleshooting guide.

For questions or help setting up an appointment, email or call us at or 646.312.4012 (phone answered M-F, 9-5 while the semester is in session).

Having trouble logging in? Enter your email address below and then click "Reset Password." The system will immediately email you with instructions for changing your password. If you do not receive that email in a few minutes, please check your spam filter.

Receiving unwanted text messages from this system? This system can send appointment reminder and waiting list notifications via text message, but only if a cell phone number and carrier is entered by a client when creating or updating an account on the system.

If you have an account on the system, log in to edit your profile and modify your cell phone preferences. If you do not have an account on this system, it's possible that your cell phone number was entered accidentally. Fill out the form below to remove your number immediately.
